SOUTHAMPTON TOWN ROLLS OUT NEW LITTER TRUCK

It’s compact but it can do a big job! The Town of Southampton rolled out its new Litter Truck that now becomes a part of the fleet for the Parks and Recreation Department. The new litter truck was demonstrated for the news media in front of Southampton Town Hall on Thursday November 03, 2016.

The sweeper is a Tenant 4300 ATLV self-propelled all terrain vacuum. The compact vehicle functions well on grassed areas, fence lines, pedestrian areas, athletic fields as well as basketball and tennis courts.

“This litter truck will help our Parks and Rec crews get to those hard to reach areas”, said Supervisor Jay Schneiderman.

The new truck can vacuum litter from inside parks, along the roadsides and go into places a large trash truck can’t fit. “This truck will be perfect for a place like the new Good Ground Park”, said Supervisor Jay Schneiderman. “It’s like having a giant vacuum to remove garbage which makes clean-up easier for our crews!”
