“Stay Out Late-Starry Night” Event to Take Place in Southampton Village

Southampton Town Councilman Stan J. Glinka, the Town’s Business Advisory Council’s Think Local Initiative, the Southampton Village Chamber of Commerce, Southampton Arts Center, East End Restaurant Week and Union Cantina are jointly launching a “Stay Out Late-Starry Night” event on Thursday March 30th in Southampton Village designed to encourage residents and visitors to shop locally with the overall goal of businesses within the entire Town to remain open later year round. Participating businesses in the “Stay Out Late-Starry Night” event have pledged to stay open until at least 8 pm on March 30th with some businesses offering special discounts and giveaways.

“The Business Advisory Council has been working on the “Think Local” initiative for some time and one of the items that kept coming up was promoting certain nights of the week that businesses within our Hamlets and Villages would stay open later, especially during the winter months,” said Councilman Glinka, “this pilot event in Southampton Village has had a very positive response from the local business community, with more than 20 business within the Village participating.”

"As the owner of a retail store on Jobs Lane and the President of the Southampton Chamber of Commerce, I’m very excited about the Southampton Town Business Council’s “Stay Out Late-Starry Night” event,” said Shannon Willey, “we are hoping that by getting many retailers together to stay open on this one night during restaurant week we will draw people to Southampton Village to enjoy shopping, dining, and the events the Southampton Arts Center will have taking place that night. With the businesses working together, I would love to see this be a recurring event that people could look forward to as a great night to visit our Village."

Businesses participating in the “Stay Out Late- Starry Night” event are the Southampton Arts Center which will have a screening of “Exhibitions on Screen: Vincent Van Gogh A New Way of Seeing” at 8pm for $10, Bean to Tween, Besim’s Fine Cigars, Cashmere Outlet, Chico’s, Christopher Fischer, Club Monaco, Dazzelle, Gym Source, J Crew, Jill Lynn & Co., Kevin Maple Salon, Little Lucy’s Accessories, London Jewelers, Ralph Lauren, Rotations Bicycle Center, Sea Green Designs, Stevensons Toys, Therapy, Union Cantina, Vineyard Vines and White’s Apothecary who will be offering refreshments, travel sized products and mini La Mer facials from 6 to 8pm.
