The Town of Southampton now has two new female police officers among its ranks.  Police officers Erica Moncada and Katie White were sworn in by Southampton Town Clerk Sundy Schermeyer, during a work-session by the Southampton Town Board on Thursday July 20, 2017.

Officer Moncada is bi-lingual and Officer White served in the military before entering into the Police Academy.  Both officers graduated with honors from the Suffolk County Police Academy this year.  Both served as seasonal officers before being hired full-time.  “I congratulate both of these new officers and welcome them to our Police Department, said Supervisor Jay Schneiderman.  “They bring an excellent set of skills and life experience to the department.  I am confident that they will be outstanding police officers.”

Recognizing the inherent dangers of police work, Chief Steven Skrynecki said “We wish both officers well as they take their place among the ranks of one of the finest Police Departments on Long Island.”
