Opioid Forum Tonight and YouTube Link

Opioid Forum Tonight and YouTube Link

Tonight, the Town of Southampton Opioid Task Force will host a forum in the Hampton Bays High School Auditorium at 7:00pm.  The panel, comprised of educators, parents of kids lost to addiction, law enforcement, health and mental health professionals, will hear from a panel of diverse experts and community members. I hope that you can make it and encourage others to attend as well.

Thank you to the hampton bays tech team who, if you cannot make it, has made a YouTube live stream available.

As we know, while opioids aren't front and center in the lives of our kids, in terms of use, there are many issues they face and gateway behaviors they may encounter that could lead to bigger problems. The experts tell us that, in NYS, Long Island is the worst place for opioids (more than 500 deaths in 2016) and that it's hitting hardest among males 20-30 years old.
