  2. Youth Court

    January 20, 2020, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM @ Southampton Town Justice Court

    Southampton Town’s Youth Court is a great way to earn community service credits and build your college resume. High school students from local schools work together to hold real trials for juvenile offenders, where all the facts of the case are heard and the jury decides on a disposition, or “sentence”, for the offender to repair the harm that they have caused to the victims. Cases range from trespassing, driving without a license, underage drinking to harassment, possession, and theft - among others. Any teen in grades 9 - 12 living in the Town of Southampton can participate. Students who are interested in becoming an attorney, improving public speaking skills, learning about the justice system, building their college/job resume or just enjoy community service are invited to join. Southampton Town’s Youth Court program meets every Monday night, beginning October 21st 2019 from 6:00pm -7:30pm at the Southampton Town Justice Court, 32 Jackson Ave.

  8. Creative Arts Contest: Climate Change

    January 23, 2020, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM @ The Watermill Center

    The Southampton Youth Bureau’s getting the conversation started about Climate Change through this year’s Creative Arts Contest. The contest is open to students in grades 5 – 12 who reside or attend school in the Town of Southampton. Artwork will be judged on quality, creativity, and presentation based on the artist’s portrayal of “Climate Change”. All art entries (maximum of two entries per artist) must be dropped off at the Southampton Youth Bureau’s main office at the Flanders Community Center, 655 Flanders Rd or at the Citizens’ Response Center in Southampton Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road by Thursday, April 2nd. Participating artists are invited to bring their families and friends to the final exhibit at the Watermill Center, 39 Water Mill Towd Rd on Tuesday, April 28th from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. Prizes will be awarded to the “Best Art Piece” in the categories of photography, graphic art, sculpture, and free-hand. Light refreshments will be served.

    January 23, 2020, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM @ Southampton Town Hall

    Registration is now open for The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau’s “Youth and Government” program. Youth & Government is sponsored by the Alliance of NYS YMCAs and is a national program that involves teens in state-organized, model-government programs. Students in grades 9 - 12 will have the opportunity to practice experiential civic engagement and learn about the democratic process. Youth will discuss and debate issues that affect citizens of New York State and will get a chance to deliberate in the chambers of the NYS Legislature at a state conference in Albany.

  11. Band Applications Available: 18th Annual Battle of the Bands

    Band applications are now available for the Southampton Youth Bureau’s 18th Annual Battle of the Bands. This year’s competition will be held on Friday, June 5th (Rain Date: Friday, June 19th) at Ponquogue Beach in Hampton Bays from 8:00pm – 11:00pm. All applications and demo music must be received by 4:00pm on Friday, May 8th 2020 and can be sent or dropped off to:

    If you are in grades 7th through 12th and interested in planning trips and events, doing community service projects, and making friends with students from other schools, then sign up for YAC! The Southampton Youth Bureau is looking for new members to join its Youth Advisory Committee, (YAC) for 2019 – 2020. As a YAC member, you can help make a difference in your community. Community service projects may include leaf raking for senior citizens, hosting a clothing drive, participating in fundraisers for other youth organizations, meeting with elected officials in Albany for youth causes, or other activities that can make a difference in our community. Youth Advisory Committee is a great way to get involved and to earn community service credit hours during the school year. Meetings are held every other Tuesday beginning September 24th 2019 at the Hampton Bays Community Center, 25 Ponquogue Avenue, from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Transportation is available upon request.

  27. 7th Annual Hamptons Got Talent Auditions

    January 31, 2020, 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM @ Hampton Bays Community Center

    The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau will be holding open auditions for their annual Hamptons Got Talent Competition on Friday, January 31st at the Hampton Bays Community Center, 25 Ponquogue Ave and on Friday, February 7th at the Flanders Community Center, 655 Flanders Road. Auditions will run from 4:30pm – 6:30pm on both dates. Students in grades 5-12, who reside and/or attend school in Southampton Town are eligible to enter. Solo artists, bands, dance groups, poets, magicians, comedians, and other artistic acts are encouraged to audition. If a contestant chooses to sing at an audition, he or she must be prepared to bring music without vocals. Auditions for MC will also be held on both dates as well. Finalists selected will perform in the 7th Annual Hamptons Got Talent Competition which will be held on Saturday, April 4th in the auditorium at the Hampton Bays High School, 88 East Argonne Rd.
