Community Response Unit

The Southampton Town Police Community Response Unit (CRU) is an extension of the Patrol Division and is charged with numerous tasks including, but not limited to:

• Patrol Division support, when necessary
• Quality of life enforcement efforts
• Special traffic enforcement efforts
• Special traffic enforcement details
• Special event security details
• Warrant control
• ATV enforcement efforts
• Bike Patrol

Workload

Much of the CRU's workload is focused on information reported to the department by the community. The unit is versatile and diligent in its efforts to satisfy the expectations of the citizens of Southampton Town.
