Flying Point Beach Repairs To Begin This Week
Improved Comfort Station, Pavilion to Re-Open in May
Southampton Town parks and recreation officials announced today that construction will commence this week at Water Mill’s Flying Point Beach.
Under a contract secured through the Town’s bidding process, Greenway USA will repair and renovate the facility’s comfort station and pavilion. In doing so, the veteran-owned firm will replace the roof shingles, decking, lights, toilet fixtures, railings and handicapped ramp. A new attendant booth will also be added.
“Security fencing will be installed around the work site this week,” reports Town Parks Director Kristen Doulos, “but a portion of the parking lot, and parking and access to the beach at the end of Flying Point Road will remain available.”
The work is expected to be completed by Memorial Day weekend.
