Our Town Highway Department, under the direction of our new Highway Superintendent Charlie McArdle, have done an amazing job working to try and clear the snow from the roadways. An exceptionally high amount of snow fell throughout the Town of Southampton and the dedicated workers from Highway are still working to make the roads safe and passable. Workers have been going strong since 1:00 AM on January 29th and continued working today. Efforts are expected to continue tomorrow too. Supervisor Schneiderman and Highway Superintendent McArdle stopped in at the Highway garage during the storm to visit with and thank some of the workers. Superintendent McArdle and Supervisor Schneiderman were also out and about clearing snow and assisting motorists themselves during the storm too.
