Over 100 people including kids in costumes and parents turned out at the Hampton Bays Community Center for a Halloween event Saturday October 27, 2018. The event was originally scheduled for Good Ground Park but due to the Nor’easter that hit the area, it was moved indoors.
The event was sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, the Youth Bureau and the Hampton Bays Library. Prizes were donated by the Hampton Bays Civic and the pumpkins were donated by “Pumpkintown”.
Kids were treated to a magician, arts and crafts including pumpkin decorating and a costume contest! Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman, Councilman Tommy John Schiavoni and Councilwoman Julie Lofstad, dressed as a scarecrow, served as judges for the contest.
