Southampton Town Police Department is alerting the public of a phone/text scam involving calls or texts to victims containing graphic photos. Latino callers are texting or calling victims stating they know where the victim works or lives and implies a threat of harm if the victim does not comply with demands of money to the caller.
There have been several calls and texts using the same graphic photo or similar graphic photos depicting an execution style murder.
Southampton Town Police are warning the community of this scam and want the community to avoid sending any money to the subjects.
