The Long Island Rail Road will conclude track work on November 10th in the East Hampton village area and the South Fork Commuter Connection will be back on track the following day. Bus service has been provided east of the Southampton Station since mid-October but normal SFCC service will resume Monday, November 11th.
The LIRR replaced two bridges that were more than 100 years old on Accabonac Road and North Main Street to increase vehicular height clearance and improve safety. During that time, the SFCC provided bus service through Hampton Hopper and the Hampton Jitney.
The South Fork Commuter Connection was launched in March to help workers get to and from South Fork destinations and avoid traffic delays. The service has grown three times in popularity since its inception.
The SFCC recently added an additional stop in Westhampton at 6:01pm in response to commuter requests for an additional westbound stop. For detailed information on the South Fork Commuter Connection, please go to www.SFCClirr.com
