The Southampton Town Board held its regular scheduled work session Thursday March 19, 2020, without public attendance, during this State of Emergency to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus COVID 19.
Town Hall is closed to the public during the state of Emergency order. No other Town Boards, ie: Trustees or Planning Board are permitted to meet during the State of Emergency.
The setting for the Town Board Work Session was much different than what the public is accustomed to seeing Board members, the Town Attorney and the Town Clerk were seated at a social distance, required by the CDC.
The Town Board heard from Town Safety and Emergency Management Administrator Ryan Murphy on the latest information pertaining to the Coronavirus COVID 19.
Mr Ryan reiterated the public should call the County’s 3-1-1 hotline if they have any questions. There are two mobile testing sites on Long Island, at Jones Beach in Nassau County and in Suffolk County the location is at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook.
There is a protocol for these testing sites. You can’t just drive up and be tested. The following is the New York State criteria for testing.
