Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has extended the property tax deadline to June 22^nd for the second half of taxes that would have been due May 31^st.  The order comes at the same time that Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone has requested the Governor further extend it to July 15^th.  There has been no decision on that request. 

County Executive Bellone had put together a working group of elected officials and business leaders, including Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman to come up with a workable plan to send to the Governor requesting the July 15^th deadline extension.    

In the meantime, Tax Receiver Theresa Kiernan said, “For taxpayers convenience the Tax Receiver’s office will accept payments tomorrow, Saturday May 30^th , from 9:00am to 12:00pm, and on Monday June 1^{st ,}  from 8:30am to 6:00pm.”
