Southampton Town Supervisor Extends Emergency Order Restricting Town Beaches to Local Residents and Renters
This Emergency Order (#7.22 of 2020) limits the use of all town beaches, not just parking lots, to residents and legal renters until September 13, and restricts roadside parking near beaches as well.
Certain sections of Town Code Chapter 111 and 312 regulate parking by permit areas from
July 1 through Labor Day. This Emergency Order extends the parking permit regulation period to September 30. It also provides that certain Town beaches – Long Beach, Sagg Main, Ponquogue Beach, Tiana Beach, and Pikes Beach – will be designated as parking by permit on weekends only. Emergency Orders like this, suspending local laws, are limited to no more than five days; this Emergency Order is likely to be extended.
This order is in effect as of 12:00 a.m. on September 9, 2020 through September 13, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.
