November 2025 Events

Sun, Nov 2, 1pm-3pm.  Manorville Hills County Park - Daylight Savings Hike. For those who need to sleep late due to change to daylight savings time, this hike will be an eye-opener through dense stands of white pines and then past a lovely glacial kettlehole. The trail travels up and down convoluted hills deposited as part of the Ronkonkoma Moraine by the receding glaciers of the last Ice Age. 5-mile hike with elevations topping out at 250 feet.  Meet/park at Kiosk on East (Northbound) side of Manorville's Route 111 just South of the Hot Water Street exit area, which is accessible from Route 111.  Leader: Kat Knight, (917) 912-8223.

Wed, Nov 5, 6pm.  STPS Board Meet.  All are welcome! Please email Miles at rmrgeneral@gmail.com for the Zoom link a day or two before the board meet.

Sat, Nov 8, 8am-9am.  Narrow Lane Cleanup. Help STPS clean up litter from our adopted road. Meet on Narrow Lane and east corner of Norris Lane, Bridgehampton. Bring gloves. Free 2025 membership to new volunteers! Leader: Dai Dayton, 631-745-0689.

Smith Point is known for miles of sandy beach, and there have been sightings of sharks, dolphins, seals, whales and abundant bird life including piping plovers and osprey, depending on the season. Leg up and ready to ride at 12:30. Bring a dish to share after the ride. Helmets required. To sign up or for more info, please contact Debbie Neumann, dntrailrider@gmail.com, or Val Frederick, val3rie66@gmail.com.

Sat, Nov 8, 10am-Noon.  Mulvihill Preserve Hike. One of our most outstanding preserves with magnificent woodland, numerous hills, streams and ponds, glacial erratics and the Great Swamp.  The Daniel and Anna Mulvihill and the adjoining William Mulvihill Preserves make up one of the best hikes on the east end of Long Island. Cruise up the beautiful estate-like driveway between the gray pillars at 820 Brick Kiln Road in Sag Harbor, directly across from High View Drive. This is a 3.2-mile, moderately strenuous hike. Your leashed dog is welcome to join us.  Please be 15 minutes early. Hike leader: Tim Corwin, 631-204-7821.

Sun, Nov 9, 9am-10am.  Long Pond Greenbelt Hike. Leisurely stroll through beautiful Vineyard Field. Sat, Nov 22, 11am-12pm.  Elizabeth A. Morton Wildlife Refuge.  A peaceful, moderately paced, 1.2-mile hike through Elizabeth Morton Wildlife Refuge. Witness a blend of forest, salt marsh, and sandy beach habitats. The easy, scenic trail winds through woods alive with birdsong and leads to the bay. Along the way, visitors can spot deer, turtles, frogs, chipmunks, osprey and enjoy the quiet beauty of this coastal sanctuary—a perfect mix of wildlife encounters and bayside tranquility. Great hike to go on around Thanksgiving, as the likelihood of spotting wild turkeys on the hike is pretty high. Address: 2595 Noyack Rd, Sag Harbor. Leader: Hank Oppenheimer (631) 204-7223.
