Sat, Jan 3, 8am-9am. Narrow Lane Cleanup.  Help STPS clean up litter from our adopted road. Meet on Narrow Lane and east corner of Norris Lane, Bridgehampton. Bring gloves. Free 2026 membership to new volunteers! Leader: Dai Dayton, 631-745-0689.

Sun, Jan 4, 9:30am-11am. Laurel Valley Hike.  Park in the Suffolk County Water Authority parking lot at 2400 Deerfield Road Sag Harbor, or on Deerwood Path directly across the street.  2.8-mile moderately hilly hike through ravines, mountain laurel, oak and hickory forest.  Enjoy a beautiful view across Noyac Golf Course and Noyac Bay. Wed, Jan 7, 6pm. STPS Board Meet.  All are welcome! Please email Miles at rmrgeneral@gmail.com for Zoom link a day or two before the board meet.

Sun, Jan 11, 10am-12pm. Whiskey Hill Hike.  Meet at end of Mill Path off Lopers Path (heading east), off Millstone Rd., Bridgehampton. Moderately paced 3-mile hike with ocean view, kettle hole ponds, and glacial erratic. 1.7-mile option if trail conditions aren’t great. Leaders: Eric and Hilary Woodward, 631-903-7895.

Sat. Jan 17, 12pm-2pm. 40th Anniversary Hike *with* Horses on Trails (HOT) group on NW Path. Meet at intersection of Merchants Path and Wainscott Harbor Rd. in Sagaponack. 3-mile hike. Sun, Jan 18, 10am-11am. Long Pond Greenbelt South Loop. Leisurely stroll through beautiful Vineyard Field. Join Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt for an easy-paced one-mile hike with views of ponds and kettle holes. Meet at the grass parking area behind the SOFO museum at 377 Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor Tpke. Leader: Dai Dayton, 631-745-0689. 

Sat, Jan 24, 9:45am-12:30pm. Tuckahoe Woods Hike. See streams and ponds, and even Lake Missapague (Big Fresh) with view across the bays to the north fork. Meet at the kiosk on Sebonac Rd., 1/3 mile east of Tuckahoe School. Hike is 4 miles with some hills. Leashed dogs welcome. Leader: Tim Corwin, 631-204-7821.

Sun, Jan 25, 10am-12pm. Spinney Road Trek. Meet at Spinney Rd. off of Rte. 24 in Flanders for a hike along the Paumanok Path to Maple Swamp. Dress for tick prevention. 4-to-4.5-mile hike.  Leader: Liz Karpin, (631) 819-8183.

Sat, Jan 31, 11am-1 pm. Long Pond Greenbelt North Loop. A 3.3-mile loop, moderately paced, mostly flat, on the Long Pond Greenbelt Nature Preserve between Sag Harbor and Bridgehampton. The hike takes you along shady woodland paths and around a series of freshwater ponds including Long Pond. A hike here feels like stepping into a tranquil, watery landscape that highlights the natural beauty of eastern Long Island. While driving North on Main St. approaching the intersection of Jermain Ave. in Sag Harbor from the direction of the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Tpke (heading towards Otter Pond), stop at the second dirt parking lot of Mashashimuet Park on the right-hand side of the road. Parking lot is before the gas station on the left side of the road. The main entrance to the park is on the right side of the road (sign over the entrance says Mashashimuet Park), and pickle ball courts are also on the right side of the road.
