Meet at Redcreek Park 102 Old Riverhead Road in Hampton Bays, next door to the Southampton Town Police station. Leader: Liz Karpin, (631) 819-8183.
Sun, Feb 22, 10am-Noon. Barrel Hill Hike. Barrel Hill in North Sea offers a quietly rewarding hike with classic South Fork character. The trail gradually rises to a modest summit with wide views of Peconic Bay and the surrounding land. Breezes off the water, birdsong, and big sky make it feel calm and expansive despite the hill’s small size. It’s an easy, peaceful walk—ideal for a quick nature break, or a moment of stillness that captures the beauty of the North Sea landscape. Moderately paced, 3.5-mile trail. Leader Hank Oppenheimer, 631-204-7223.
Sat, Feb 28, 10am-Noon. Four Ponds Hike. Meet at the Long Pond Greenbelt Nature Center, 1061 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike. Join Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt for a moderately-paced 3.5-mile hike through oak/hickory forest with views of Crooked Pond, Long Pond, Deer Drink and Little Long Pond. Leader: Jean McDermott, 631-599-2391.
