Greetings, It is again time for the Great East End Clean-Up, a volunteer-based program to remove litter and debris from Southampton Town's roadsides, parks, trails, and beaches. Last year 750 volunteers removed over 60 tons of litter and debris, including 2.5 tons of metal that was sorted for recycling, from beaches, parks, trails, and roadsides.
The 2017 Great East End Clean-Up will take place on Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23.
If you would like to participate-and we hope you do-all you need to do is select an area of public property such as a park, beach, roadside, or trail that's in need of cleaning.
Then, complete the registration form online by Monday, April 17. I emphasize that the site you select must be publicly maintained. The Town will provide garbage bags, pick sticks (while supplies last) and disposal passes for all four Town Transfer Stations. Registrants can receive these items at the following times and locations:
- Monday, April 17, between 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Hampton Bays Community Center Library Room 25 Ponqougue Avenue, Hampton Bays
- Monday, March 27, - Friday, April 21, between 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
