Bayside Adventures
Marine Summer Program


Are you interested in the marine environment? Do you want to learn about local marine habitats and all the animals that call these place home? If so this program is for you! Lead by CCE Marine Educators this program will deliver a unique science based curriculum designed to engage and inspire our youth to be stewards of our marine environment. Featured research topics will include a hands on applied science component giving participants an experience unlike any other. Unique field-based experiences in Seahorse Conservation & Research, Eelgrass & Coastal Plant Restoration, Shorebird Excursions & Data Collection, Sustainable Fisheries Research and more!

Time: 9 am - 2 pm
Place: Tiana Bayside Education Center,

Fee Per Session: Residents $475 Non-Residents $485 (5 classes)

  • Program 1: July 23 - 27 Ages: 6 - 8
  • Program 2: July 30 - August 3 Ages: 9-12
  • Program 3: August 6 - 10 Ages: 6 - 8
  • Program 4: August 13 - 17 Ages: 9 - 12

Program 1:
July 5, 12, 19, 26 - 6 pm - 9 pm (Community Center)
July 6, 9, 11, 13, 16 18, 20, 23 - 8 am - 10 am  (TBD)
Test: Thursday, July 26 - Ponquogue Beach - 8:00 a.m.
Age: Anyone 16 or older who wishes to work as a lifeguard. Above average swimming ability and physical condition required.

Fee: Residents $200 Non-Residents $250
Place: Hampton Bays Community Center 25 Ponquogue Avenue & Town Beaches. Students will be given schedule at first class. Must have current CPR/AED certification - Sign up is separate

CPR Dates: July 9, 10 & 13 Time: 6:00 p.m. - 9 :00 pm
Fee: Residents $90  Non-Residents $110 (includes book)
Place: HB Community Center Courses include introduction & organization, injury prevention, rules & regulations, emergency planning, first aid, practical skills, and a written test. Course approved by NY State Health Department. All classes/test held rain or shine
