The Town of Southampton is conducting its annual Employee Health Insurance Open Enrollment period between
November 15th & December 15th, 2022
If you want to keep your insurance coverage exactly the same,
NO action is necessary at this time.
The Open Enrollment period allows employees to enroll, make changes to their existing health insurance coverage, or leave the Town’s benefits plan for the upcoming year.
Now is the time when you can add or remove a family member from your coverage without the need for a “qualifying event”, you can opt to accept the Town’s health insurance buy back offer, or to return to NYSHIP.
Changes made during the Open Enrollment period will become effective January 1, and will remain in effect throughout the year unless the employee has a “qualifying event”.
Without a qualifying event, you will not be permitted to change your health coverage, or to opt to join or leave NYSHIP outside the Open Enrollment period.
The deadline to submit changes will be December 15, however, employees are encouraged to contact Human Resources—Employee Benefits regarding any changes as soon as possible to allow sufficient time for processing.
