The Hampton Bays Water District is in the process of replacing commercial water meters measuring 1 1/2 inches and bigger throughout the district. This change will:
- Maintain accurate usage
- Replace aging or obsolete equipment
- Improve system efficiency and reliability
- Support future water system upgrades
- Maintain compliance with operational and regulatory standards
We have hired an outside company to replace your meter and are notifying you to reassure you that this is not a scam. The authorized contractor is Saks Metering. If you have any questions, you may contact the Hampton Bays Water District at 631-728-0179.
The removal and installation will require a temporary interruption of water service. The approximate duration may range from 30 minutes to 2–4 hours, depending on the meter size and site conditions. The project is scheduled to begin March 23, 2026, and is expected to be completed by May 29, 2026.
Appointments will be available Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
